Enrichment Opportunities

The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program for undergraduate research in biotechnology and bioengineering at Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) in Claremont, CA provides undergraduate students the opportunity for cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research in the areas of applied molecular and cellular biology, bioengineering, computational biology, drug discovery and development, as well as exposure to related ethics and business topics.

Each year, high-achieving and talented high school, undergraduate, and graduate students are selected to work in New York City as part of the NYSCF Summer Internship Program, a ten-week unique summer enrichment internship program that provides students a rare glimpse into the fast-paced world of stem cell research, insight into life at an entrepreneurial nonprofit research institute, exposure to career opportunities in science, and connections to valuable professional and peer networks.

Participants have the opportunity to gain direct experience with stem cells and science through joining one of four program tracks: laboratory research, automation/software engineering, data science/bioinformatics, and program administration.

The Travelers Summer Research Fellowship Program is designed to give 25 premedical students meaningful insights into the field of medicine, with a focus on conditions that greatly affect the health of traditionally underserved populations. By engaging in laboratory or clinical research, under the supervision of a faculty member, the TSRF participants learns how to investigate a specific research question. 

Wy’east is a tuition-free post-baccalaureate health education Pathway for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) learners who are passionate about becoming physicians. The Wy’east Post-Baccalaureate Pathway is designed to help American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) scholars thrive in their journey through medicine. Wy’east provides a holistic, culturally-specific framework for the successful recruitment, training, retention, and graduation of AI/AN medical students.
