Prehealth advisors were a critical part of SHPEP’s outreach and recruitment strategy and served as the program’s #1 referral source for applicants. Their guidance helped connect students from diverse backgrounds with information about SHPEP and opportunities to pursue the health professions.

Key Terms in the SHPEP Application Process
Registrant¹: an applicant who has initiated the application but has not yet submitted.
Submitter²: an applicant who has submitted their application prior to the deadline.
Completer³: an applicant who has submitted their application prior to the deadline AND has submitted all application materials (post-secondary institution transcript(s) and a letter of recommendation).
Matriculant⁴: an applicant who was accepted and participated in the program.
