What path did you take when you first started college?
I was interested in medicine, however, participating in SHPEP sparked my interest in dentistry.

What led to your interest in a health profession?
I used to go to the doctor a lot when I was younger, so I fell in love with the idea of helping others.

Who are what inspired you?
My mother. Also, being an inspiration for others to show them anything is possible.

What are some of your recent milestones?
I am currently conducting research at the New York University College of Dentistry working with brown adipose tissue in mice. I have also been elected to be on the Royal Court at my university as Miss Senior.

How did SHPEP influence you?
SHPEP exposed me to the field of dentistry. I never considered it until after I participated in the program.

What has been your favorite part of the process? The most difficult?
My favorite part of the process of pursuing a health profession degree has been conducting research at prestigious institutions during the summer. The most difficult is dedicating time to preparing for the DAT while having a full-time school schedule and managing my personal life.

What is the best career advice you have received?
Do what is best for you, regardless of how people feel about it.

What advice do you have for students pursuing a health professional career?
Keep going. Do not let anyone or anything discourage you. What is for you will be for you.
