Discover MSIPI: Health Profession Pathways at Albany State University and Portland State University Webinar
Join us for Discover MSIPI: Health Profession Pathways at Albany State University and Portland State University, an informative session highlighting the unique opportunities available through the Minority Serving Institution Pathway Initiative (MSIPI). Designed as a specialized five-week summer enrichment experience, MSIPI is integrated into the SHPEP application process and is a free program created to support and empower students pursuing careers in the health professions.
During this webinar, you’ll hear directly from program leaders at Albany State University (ASU) and Portland State University (PSU) as they share how their institutions deliver academic enrichment, professional development, and culturally grounded programming that prepares students for future success.
Discover the transformative experiences that make each MSIPI site distinct:
PSU’s Tilikum Summer Health Experience, developed in partnership with the Northwest Native American Center of Excellence (NNACoE) at Oregon Health and Science University, centers and uplifts American Indian and Alaska Native students through culturally aligned support and celebration of Indigenous heritage.
ASU’s Aspiring Scholars in Undergraduate Pre-Medicine Program, created in collaboration with Morehouse School of Medicine and the University of Connecticut Health School of Medicine, offers rich academic preparation and exposure to the medical field, with a strong emphasis on mentorship and community.
Whether you advise students or are a prospective applicant yourself, this webinar will provide valuable insights into how MSIPI expands pathways to careers in the health professions while honoring the cultural values, strengths, and experiences of participating scholars.
