Volunteer: Mentor an Undergraduate Health Science Student
November 8, 2017 - December 29, 2017
The Summer Health Professions Education Program is collaborating with MentorNet to offer online mentoring to undergraduate health science students. Are you in graduate school, residency, or working in the health care industry? If so, sign-up to mentor an undergraduate health science student.
How the MentorNet Community for Health Sciences and Careers Works
Connect. Mentees select a mentor and send a personal invitation. Mentoring is one-on-one so you receive only one invitation at a time and are matched with only one mentee. Once matched with a mentee, you and your mentee choose how to communicate using email, video, phone, text or whatever works for them.
Learn. You and your mentee receive weekly discussion topics designed to foster meaningful conversations and support the success of your mentee in completing a health profession degree.
Share. Mentorships are a mutually beneficial partnership where mentor and mentee learn from each other. Mentor-mentee pairs should communicate for at least 20 minutes per week during the 16-week mentorship, but their relationships often last a lifetime.
Succeed. You make a difference! 92% of MentorNet mentees graduate with a degree in a science, technology, engineering or math field.
